Setting myself a challenge to create a 3D printed ring.
First the ring was modeled using Solidworks. When designing the ring you have to take into account that it has a minimum tolerance of 0.7 mm. Letters were projected on a rounded surface of the required thickness. The letters have been customised to comply with the tolerance. To complete the ring, it needed to be exported in a printable file format which was sent to the printer. The print was done by Shapeways in silver.
